bachelor's degrees

Temperatures are dropping, snow is in the air, and everywhere you look there are signs of the holiday season. That got us thinking – if Santa went to college, what did he get his degree in?

Here are some of the degrees that are a perfect fit for this time of year.

Bachelor’s Degrees For Professional Snowmen (and Snowwomen)

If Frosty went to college, you can be sure he got his degree in snow science. This Montana State University program is part of the Department of Earth Sciences and teaches students about the distribution of snow, the composition of snow, the variability of snow, and its effects. (Unfortunately, it doesn’t teach how to make the perfect snowball.)

Bachelor’s Degrees for Elves

You don’t really think Santa is the one making all those toys, do you? A toy design degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology is the one you’ll want if toy-making is in your future. You’ll not only gain access to Santa’s workshop, you’ll be entering an industry that’s lucrative year-round. With 67 million children in North America, toy sales top $24 billion annually.

Bachelor’s Degrees for Chocolate Makers

The holidays wouldn’t be the same without our favorite seasonal treats, from peppermint bark to sugar cookies to fruit cake. Chocolatiers and pastry chefs are the ones who are responsible for turning sugar into holiday masterpieces, and they get their skills from a pastry degree program.

Bachelor’s Degrees For Christmas Tree Farmers

One of my favorite things about the holidays is the scent of pine in the air. Do you want to enjoy that smell all year long? Get your bachelor’s degree in forestry to open your own nursery and become a Christmas tree farmer.

Bachelor’s Degrees For Carolers
Are holiday carols your favorite? Do you wait all year long to blast songs like “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” and “Deck the Halls” on your iTunes? Fine tune your caroling voice with a degree in vocal performance.
