As colleges and universities look for sustainable ways to grow enrollment and generate new tuition revenue, the way online programs are structured and funded may play a bigger role than expected. Recent exploratory research sponsored by myFootpath and led by Don Hossler, Ph.D. examining universities with established online programs found connections between incentive-based budgeting, centralized student support, and stronger online enrollment and graduation outcomes.

In this presentation, higher education leaders explore what the research means in practice, from creating the right internal conditions for online growth to using external partnerships to build capacity and accelerate enrollment. The discussion also highlights how institutions can apply these strategies even when their online programs are newer or internal resources are limited.
